All beginnings are difficult but it really helps if we charge ourselves with positive energy from the start. And once you take the decision and do it, everything will start falling into place. Take into account that this is not a list of new year resolutions, these are options for a new and healthy life that you can choose to follow starting from today!
There are a lot of aspects of your life that you can change just a little to make a big difference, while other aspects may be more challenging to change. But no worries, the former will compensate the latter.
Try to put into practice some of these health tips today:
Take care of your diet on a daily basis. Buy fresh and seasonal food next time you go to the supermarket. This means more fresh fruits and vegetables, and less flour based foods like crackers, cookies, cakes and breads. If you can/want it’s also a great idea to add organic food to your grocery basket. And of course drink more water during the day.
Sleep more. Going to bed a minute earlier every night for just two months will earn you an extra hour of sleep pretty painlessly (a minute earlier a day for a year would gain you an extra six hours of sleep). If sleep is an issue for you it also helps if you try to let go of stress, disconnect from your devices in the evening, and go to bead at a reasonable hour.
Simplify your Goals. Reduce the number of goals you are intentionally striving for in your life to one or two. By reducing the number of goals that you are striving to accomplish, you will improve your focus and your success rate. Make a list of the things that you want to accomplish in your life and choose the two most important ones. When you finish one, add another from your list.
Get rid of negative thoughts. Most negative emotions are completely useless. Resentment, bitterness, hate, and jealousy have never improved the quality of life of a single human being. Take responsibility for your state of mind. Forgive past hurts and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
Exercise. Did you think I would forget about exercise? Make sure that you have your body moving for at least 30 minutes a day. I actually changed the way I go to work so that I can walk to and from work every day, and this alone has freed up more time because I do not have to worry about exercise and at the same time I have notice an increase in energy and quality of sleep.
There are many ways that you can make changes in your life and these are just an example of a few things that when put together can make a big difference in your life. We encourage you to take the first step towards a healthier and happier life!
