Wellness Tips For Autumn

It is almost a month since we have entered a new season in some parts of the hemisphere. However, we are really experimenting that Autumn is here only the last few days, as the temperature has dropped and we can see the colorful leaves covering the parks and gardens.  With this change in seasons comes shorter days and cooler weather. Fall is a wonderful time to set new intentions for self-care and begin a new wellness routine.

It is a time to pull our energy inward to prepare for winter. Cultivating balance is key during any transition, and recognizing that we are part of the cycle of nature.

We wanted to share our wellness tips to help prepare us for this new cycle:

SLEEP is essential to keep us happy and healthy, and aligned with the natural cycle. Try to get as much rest as possible to keep yourself healthy this season.

PREPARE YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM with vitamins. We get most of our Vitamin D from the sun, so our intake decreases when the weather is colder since we spend most of our time inside during the fall/winter seasons. If you find you are not getting outside much, a Vitamin D supplement can boost your mood and immune system.

MOISTURIZE YOUR SKIN. Harsh temperatures can make your skin dry. Also remember to wear sunscreen when you are enjoying the sunlight!

EAT IN-SEASON FOOD. Beets, broccoli, cabbage, eggplant, kale, pumpkin, broths, roasted squash, roots and fruits like pears, apples, persimmons and all kind of nuts are all great choices.

EXERCISE YOUR BODY AND SOUL. You can still try with running while its not too cold. We also encourage you to try out new fitness classes in a gym, or attend a yoga or pilates class. There are even great online programs available for those who have a hard time attending on-site classes!

This is a wonderful season to focus on your self-care and embrace all that Autumn has to offer. Not only can we embellish our sight with the beautiful colors that the nature offers everywhere around us, we can also take the chance to take care of our body and soul.

Do you have more useful tips to share with us for your Autumn Wellness Routine? Myself for example I get really dry skin in the autumn/winter season and need to moisturize my skin on a daily basis. How do you react to the new season and what kind of solutions do you find effective?

Wishing you a meaningful day ahead,

Cesar Tejedor
