Your Wellness Resolution 2018

Today we find ourselves at the start of a NEW YEAR. This means that we have been given yet another chance to begin with New Wellness Resolutions to improve our life!

All of us at Massage Around the World have made our own Wellness Resolution for this New Year, and we decided to share a list of some simple and common Wellness Tips that might help you get started with yours!

Take care of your body 

This is not about going on diets to loose weight, but more about really paying attention to what we eat.  Consuming a variety of colored fruits and vegetables have shown to promote longevity and overall well-being, while preventing disease. Add one new healthy food or ingredient to your diet each week, it is a matter of organization. Opt for organic products always when you can.

Use wholesome and natural beauty products, developed out of non-toxic ingredients. For example, using cold-pressed organic virgin coconut oil can be a solid replacement for moisturizer.

Get more sleep. You probably already know that a good night’s rest can do wonders for your mood—and appearance. But sleep is more beneficial to your health than you might realize.

Take care of your mind

Take time each day for some peaceful alone-time. Just a few minutes of meditation each day will help give you a greater sense of purpose and well-being.

Try to cut down on stress. Some people say that “a little pressure now and then won’t kill us; in fact, short bouts of stress give us an energy boost”. But if stress is chronic, it can increase your risk of—or worsen—insomnia, depression, obesity, heart disease, and more. We say let´s start this year with a focus on relaxation, sleep, socializing, and taking vacations, that are things we tell ourselves we deserve but often don’t allow ourselves to have.

Take care of your soul 

It’s good for your health to reconnect with family and old friends. Research suggests people with strong social ties live longer than those who lack a social network. In fact, a lack of social life can damage your health as much as alcohol abuse and smoking, and even more than obesity and lack of exercise. In an era of technology, it’s never been easier to stay in touch—or re-establish your relationships —with friends and family.

Travel!!! The joy we feel during our vacations can last long after the suitcase is put away. The act of traveling promotes good health on many levels, with many travelers saying that it’s also excellent for the soul. The more you get away, the more you distance yourself from the stress of everyday life. You literally leave the problems you face at work or within your relationships behind you when you get on that airplane or train.
